The Appeal
If you’ve got as far as the photos of this Dyane 6, then you may have formed a view about the car. Let us gently adjust that. What looks like a well-worn Citroën is anything but, thanks to over £3,000 in recent renovation work on the engine, brakes and suspension by specialist 2CV Shop. The reality is that the bodywork and paintwork have been deliberately kept unrestored, so much better to enjoy the character and charisma of these freewheeling Gallic classics.
Of course, there is scope to attend to the aesthetics, but maybe that isn’t what this car is about. If you can resist, then you get to enjoy a car that feels like a mobile conversation starter. You’ll be comfortable too, as you drive around, because the interior features new seat fabric and foam, also supplied and fitted by 2CV Shop.
The MOT history indicates that the car has spent much of the last 20 years in storage. It has covered a few miles since it received the 2CV Shop work, which includes new brake discs, callipers, hoses and replacement shock absorbers. It was also comprehensively serviced.
The Dyane is the ‘posh’ 2CV with added hatchback versatility. We love this characterful French classic.
