The Appeal
Earlier VW campers set the template, but the T25 is where real-world usability matched the character. These are really practical vans that are perfect for long-distance trips, particularly when fitted with useful upgrades like twin carbs and a sports exhaust.
The vendor acquired this 49,000-mile van in 2005 and has continuously improved it ever since. Most of the work has been done since 2021, when it received a full respray, switching the colour from blue to green, and a comprehensive ‘bare metal’ interior renovation. The cabin was fully insulated and the seats retrimmed over the original covers and cushions to preserve the history. The result is a really tidy camper in great order with the benefit of decent oomph from that beefed-up 2L engine. It has been recently serviced.
Alongside the recent investment, it is now fitted with a solar panel and a modern 12V fridge. Now usefully tax and MOT exempt by age, this is a chance to benefit from the vendor’s considerable investment.
The vendor says:
“I’ve spent time and money in order to get this classic running as it should. Pulls like a train.
This vehicle gets plenty of attention and interest.
“Recent full service. 49k genuine miles can be verified. The van is and was dried stored for over ten years before restoration work.”
