The Appeal

The third iteration of the XJ Saloon was styled by Pininfarina, and definitely offered a certain Continental glamour to its soul. The cabin was handsome and lined in luxuriant leathers, while the Italian coachbuilders refined the silhouette and brought a more up-to-date image to the Jaguar classic.

The V12 variant remains highly regarded among enthusiasts for its unmistakable engine note and relaxed grand touring character, and thanks to its 'fireball' combustion chamber, it offered it all without a meaningful change to fuel economy.
