The Attractions
The M535i E28 was the latest generation of BMW's pioneering sports saloon, a further evolution of the corresponding version of the previous E12 model rather than a completely new car. Designed by Claus Luthe, it was not immediately understood by the general public, who did not understand its innovativeness: its rather restrained and traditional lines were not designed to arouse strong emotions. Today enthusiasts have a very different view of the M535i, often regarded as one of the first 'super-berliners' ever produced and perhaps one of the best BMWs ever.
This 1986 example of the top version of this model is particularly remarkable. It has covered only 128,000 km, is equipped with the coveted sporty manual gearbox and numerous particularly sought-after optional extras. It was originally a company car and has recently returned to the road after being carefully stored for 26 years.
The current owner has informed us that he has put a lot of thought into the mechanics, even having the engine rebuilt, and that this BMW is now ready to hit the road again.20250129_112202.jpg8 MB
