The Appeal
Chopping the roof off the XJS coupe created one of Jaguar’s best cars. Harking back to the stylish GTs of the 1940s and ‘50s XK era, this long, low and effortlessly quick car could only be a Jaguar and is perfect for touring.
If you’re one of the many people sold on the car’s attributes, then you’re not spoilt for choice. But this car really stands out. Its Bordeau Red is a welcome alternative to the more common Arctic Blue and it is in quite remarkable 'timewarp' condition.
For that we have to thank its keepers, who have all kept the mileage down to just 36,286 miles from new. That figure is verified by the service history, which shows a run of regular work by main dealers and specialists. The car has covered few miles since the last service.
The quality and condition of this early V12 convertible are clear from the photos. It is one of the desirable pre-facelift, HE cars that retains the chrome bumpers and neat details of these mid-period cars. An advisory-free MOt to July 2025 underlines the points we’ve made above and the condition you can view in the photos.
The vendor says:
“This beautiful XJS Convertible is an immaculate example of this model, drives perfectly, providing comfort and joy to any driver, exuding class and the Jaguar heritage, a pleasure to own. Amazing value for money and a true classic in its own right, and can only appreciate in value.”
