The Appeal
For the final years of production, the R107 got a galvanised body that makes these final cars the most durable of its lengthy production run. That they are also equipped with the well-regarded and virtually bulletproof M103 3L six cylinder 185bhp engine means these later cars are almost perfect classics, whether you want to potter about, daily it or road trip it.
This handsome Blue Black metallic 300SL looks like it would do any of those perfectly. At under 100,000 miles from new, it is barely run in for a M103-powered car and likely explains the well-preserved paintwork and grey leather interior.
