It's fitting then that the company name translates literally as "people car" - VWs are vehicles for folk to make their own, with everything from the "flower power" paint schemes of the 1960s to the '90s Max Power era of bodykits, spoilers, and lowered suspension.
Our MK2 Golf falls into the latter category: a nostalgic custom build with plenty of attitude.
