With interest in Jaguar’s smooth XJ40 on the rise, here is a great opportunity for collectors. It is a one-keeper, low mileage car in premium Sovereign trim with the 4litre AJ6 engine.

It comes to market fresh from a comprehensive recommissioning process by a Jaguar specialist costing £2,500. That included a new MOT which runs to September 2024 with no advisories.

The condition across the car reflects all those factors. It has been garaged all its life so presents in remarkably preserved condition - part of its appeal is that it is an original, unrestored car.

XJ40s in this condition with this provenance are getting rare. This one looks very tempting.

Michelin tyres fitted all round that appear to be in good condition
High Sovereign specification with uprated beige leathers and wood veneers
Veneers include hand-applied inlays and appear well kept with no obvious deterioration
Leather presents well with well kept condition indicative of low mileage
Interior fittings well kept with good headlining exhibiting no obvious sagging
Trim include sliding steel sunroof and electric front seats
Very original interior including Jaguar radio cassette system
Dials work correctly and digital odometer remains bright and clearly visible
Factory tool kit in boot with matching alloy spare wheel
