The Appeal
For decades, the XJS was one of the world's most aspirational cars. These handsome executive tourers became synonymous with success. Everybody knew somebody who drove one, and everybody envied them. To this day, it's one of the marque's most legendary cars - perhaps second only to the E-type.
This particular example benefits from a life spent in Florida, where the dry, hot conditions have kept it in fine fettle. Having covered just 48,206 miles, it was used for special occasions and Jaguar club meetings before being placed into dry storage for a number of years. The vehicle also benefits from desirable history including the Original Bill of Sale from Jaguar Florida and full dealer service history up to 1996.
It was shipped to the UK in late 2022 and has since undergone a thorough recommission by a Jaguar specialist. The work has been extensive, covering the cooling system, braking, steering, suspension, engine servicing, and gearbox, alongside cosmetic improvements including a new mohair hood, reconditioned seats, and new front carpets. The vendor states that only a few hundred shakedown miles have been covered since the work was completed. image.png1.89 MB
