The Appeal
The Mayfair revisited a type of Mini that was born in the sixties with plush coachbuilt versions like the Radford and Wood & Pickett cars. Deep velour trim and other little luxuries make these cars interesting alternatives to the more sporting Coopers.
This restored Mayfair bridges the gap between the two types - it retains its plushness, but mixed with some Cooper aesthetics to arguably provide the best of both worlds. An extensive deck of restoration photos and handwritten notes record the car’s comprehensive restoration. That work covered bodywork welding, full respray in burgundy with a white roof and attention to virtually every area of the mechanicals and running gear. The full list of work is provided in the photos.
Recent work has included £800 spent with specialist P J Minis on ignition and suspension repairs. The photos show a few areas for the buyer to note, but overall this is a well-presented Mayfair where someone else has done all the hard work for you. Added reassurance is provided by the lengthy MOT valid to June 2027 with no advisories.
