The Appeal

The XJ-S was amongst Britain's most aspirational cars for decades, and may well remain one of its most aspirational classics. Those legendary lines by Malcolm Sayer create an evocative, angular silhouette, with glamorous back buttresses and a low, smooth front, and that traditional gentleman's parlour of a cabin with glamorous wooden veneers and rich, plush leather.

This particular example has been cherished by a succession of dedicated Jaguar enthusiasts. Originally ordered new by Mr JB Cameron and serviced by Reg Vardy Jaguar in its early years, it passed to Judge Diana Faber - a well-known member of the bar - in 1993 via Stratstones Jaguar. Maintenance has been carried out by Jaguar main dealers and marque specialists, including Stratstones, Creamers of Kensington, and Arun Jaguar. Subsequent owners have all been members of the Jaguar Enthusiast Club or Jaguar Drivers Club, and the current owner - a senior member of the XJS register - has owned and enjoyed the car for 19 years, using it weekly as a genuine Grand Tourer.
