The Appeal

Replacing the 944 in 1991, Porsche claimed the 968 was almost entirely new, although the engines (while modified) were carried over from the 944. This was no bad thing though – they’re torquey and smooth units that suit the laid-back nature of the 968, particularly the convertible.

This smart example is finished in Amazon Green Metallic – which does look blue in certain lights and is more of a dark blue/green – and benefits from a good specification. If you’re after a charming and handsomely styled convertible sports car to enjoy through the upcoming spring and summer, this is well worth considering.

Summary

Few marques have the cachet of Porsche, both amongst the general populace and car enthusiasts. The reputation is well deserved too, as they consistently produce superb sports cars and GTs.

The 968 is no exception. Handsomely styled and powered by a well-developed and robust drivetrain, with some work to repair the folding roof, this could soon be a very smart little sports car indeed. With fewer than 2,000 units ever supplied to the US and Canada, it’s actually quite a rare machine too. With the great spec of this car, we think it would happily grace any garage.
