The Appeal
The G-Wagon may have become an ultra-expensive style icon, with versions that can outrun supercars, but its go-anywhere origins lie in utilitarian models exactly like this one. Its practicality and durability likely explain why it was acquired by the Singapore Army in 1994.
Although this 290GD pick up is an obvious workhorse, it appears to have led a very easy life. The condition is impressive for a 32 year old truck, the chassis, interior, paintwork and bodywork looking virtually like new. With its folding canvas roof it is ideally suited to the recent heatwave. The vendor reports that the odometer shows 16,000 miles, which likely explains why. That’s barely run in for the tough OM602 5cyl diesel engine.
This is a very practical, well-preserved RHD W461 in a rare and useful spec. The vendor tells us that it is sold with fresh service, recent brake work, UK registration, and an MOT valid to May 2027. image.png1013.59 KB
