One registered keeper and just 57,850 miles from new
Ordered to British specification directly through the Mercedes factory by its RAF Medical Officer owner while stationed in Germany
Garage-kept
Exceptionally well-kept and beautifully presented example
Unrepeatable original condition
The Appeal
Your typical W124 has done moon mileage and wears the signs of it. This car is not your typical W124...
Take a moment to study the photographs, because this E280 is as well-kept and beautifully presented as you could possibly hope to find. It's like stepping back to 1995. With a mere 57,850 miles under its belt, it's mechanically fresh too.
Our vendor ordered this car to full British specification directly through the Mercedes factory by its first owner, an RAF Medical Officer stationed in Germany at the time. It has been garage kept throughout, regularly maintained, and used very sparingly indeed.
With an advisory-free MOT valid until 18th November 2026, this E280 presents a fine opportunity to acquire a well-cared-for example of Mercedes-Benz's over-engineered saloon.
The W124-generation Mercedes-Benz E-Class is widely regarded as one of the finest saloons the marque ever produced, celebrated for its robust engineering and long-term durability. The E280, with its smooth inline-six engine, occupies a sweet spot in the range, offering refined performance without the running costs of the larger-engined variants.
You likely won't find another example as good as this for years to come.image.png1.45 MB
This sale is subject to the Car & Classic Terms and Conditions. By bidding and/or making an offer, you also agree to the following:
✓ The seller is registered as a private seller which means consumer rights stemming from EU consumer protection law do not come into effect. However, you are still covered by Car & Classic’s own Terms and Conditions..
✓ We request that a non-refundable fee be paid if you are the lucky winning bidder at auction or if your offer is accepted Please refer to our helpful FAQs and T&Cs for specific rates.
✓ This vehicle is “Sold As Seen”, on an “As Is Where Is’ basis and without warranty. Photos and descriptions are solely for guidance purposes and it's customary to carry out a full inspection of the vehicle prior to purchase for your own peace of mind.
✓ VAT is included in the buyer's fee. VAT may or may not be included in the final bid or offer price, as specified in the listing.
✓ We want a smooth transaction just as much as you do and as such we run all UK-registered cars and motorbikes for sale on Car & Classic through an online HPI check to verify that they show no insurance database markers for damage or theft, and have no finance owing, allowing you to bid with confidence.
✓ We also check whether vehicles are recorded as being written off as part of an insurance total loss claim at the time an advert is placed on Car & Classic and we helpfully provide write-off category labels (Cat C/D/S/N) for your assistance. However, the presence or absence of a label does not guarantee the vehicle’s status and it is always worthwhile carrying out your own full vehicle history check before making an offer on a vehicle.
✓ Buyers are responsible for vehicle collection
or delivery. Importing vehicles may result in additional customs duties and import taxes so it's worth checking beforehand. It is the bidders responsibility to confirm import eligibility prior to purchase.
✓ Unless stated otherwise, you must assume that any cherished, personalised, or heritage vehicle registration is not included in the sale of a vehicle.

Hi BL,
I have now contacted Mercedes Benz UK. This is what they have said.
"Mercedes E280 wiring loom does not have a set replacement age. It usually lasts for the entire life of the vehicle, often 15 to 20 years or more. You only need to change it if the wires get damaged by heat, rust, accidents, or rodents.
Gaskets do not have a set age or time limit for replacement. Most gaskets are made to last the entire life of the engine, often 100,000 to 200,000 miles or more, unless a leak, engine overheat, or mechanical failure happens"
I have had regular service which included Engine oil change, oil filter change, air & Cabin filters etc as per recommendation.
My sincere advice to you to please refrain from posting inaccurate information in your comments.
This, for those who are not familiar with the technicalities would interpret wrongly, thus resulting badly on my auction bids.
Thanks
