The Appeal
The Volkswagen Corrado is widely regarded as one of the marque’s finest modern driver’s cars. Introduced as the successor to the Scirocco, it combined handsome coupé styling with impressive practicality and sophisticated engineering, creating a car that appealed as much to enthusiasts as it did to everyday drivers. Distinctive features such as its automatically deploying rear spoiler helped set it apart from its contemporaries, while its compact dimensions and well-resolved chassis ensured an engaging driving experience.
The ultimate expression of the model arrived in the form of the VR6-powered variants. Featuring Volkswagen’s ingenious narrow-angle six-cylinder engine, the Corrado VR6 delivered smooth performance, effortless torque and a distinctive soundtrack that remains one of the model’s defining characteristics.
Introduced in 1995 as a limited-edition send-off for the Corrado, the Storm was restricted to just 500 examples. All were equipped with the coveted VR6 engine, BBS alloy wheels and heated leather upholstery, making them among the most desirable and collectable versions of the breed.
Enthusiast-owned and garage-stored during current ownership, this example has been regularly displayed by the Corrado Club at the NEC Classic Motor Show. Now offered for sale following seven years of ownership, it represents an appealing opportunity to acquire one of Volkswagen’s most admired modern classics.
