The Appeal
The first-generation Renault Twingo is one of the most endearing city cars of the 1990s. Its distinctive MPV silhouette, cheerful face and clever interior have earned it a devoted following amongst French automotive design enthusiasts. Finding an example that retains its original specification and presents this well is becoming increasingly difficult, as most survivors have covered considerably higher mileages and bear the inevitable marks of daily urban use.
This 1996 example is a remarkable discovery. With just 45,145 km showing on the odometer, it appears to be a well-preserved example of a car that is gaining recognition amongst 1990s automotive collectors. From the original cassette radio to the apparently unworn carpets and seats, the seller presents a Twingo that appears to be in excellent overall condition.

✓ We also check whether vehicles are registered as written off as a result of a total loss claim at the time the listing is placed on Car & Classic and we provide write-off category labels (Cat C/D/S/N) to help you. The presence or absence of a label does not, however, guarantee the vehicle's status and it is always worthwhile to carry out a full vehicle history check before making an offer on it.
