The Appeal

The V8-powered BMW 8 Series is one of the most striking grand tourers of the 1990s. With its pillarless coupé silhouette, pop-up headlamps, and smooth 4.4-litre V8, the 840 Ci offers a compelling alternative to its V12 sibling.

This 1997 example stands out immediately thanks to its BMW Individual Barbados Green metallic paintwork, a colour very seldom seen on the 8 Series. The vendor describes the car as being in totally original condition throughout. It was in regular use until around 2000, accumulating 46,000 miles with dealer servicing, before seeing very limited use and then entering dry garage storage from 2014 until 2024. It was reportedly recommissioned that year and has since been displayed at Caffeine and Machine, where it reportedly drew considerable attention.
