The Appeal
The 300TDi-powered Defender is widely regarded as the sweet spot of the Defender range thanks to its combination of eminently drivable creature comforts and almost agriculture-esque go-anywhere, do-anything versatility. This 1998 example has been extensively refurbished with a raft of new body panels, while the vendor states it retains its original chassis and bulkhead. Finished in Russet Brown over Caramel White with a custom Series-style front grille, colour-coded bumper and LED lighting throughout, it's a real turn up compared to the swathes of black and gunmetal Defenders we see - a deeply handsome off-roader, through and through. Inside, the cabin has been upgraded with new seats, Alcantara trim and Series-style door cards.
Mechanically, it has been recently serviced and fitted with new brakes all round, new swivel hubs and seals, and polybushed suspension.
