The Appeal
The Land Rover 'Tomcat' takes the proven mechanicals of a coil-sprung V8 Land Rover and reimagines them as something far more dramatic: a road-legal machine built in the spirit of Baja and Rally Raid competition. With its Ken Block-inspired styling and serious off-road hardware, this is a vehicle that the vendor tells us never fails to raise eyebrows and bring a smile.
This particular example has been in the current owner's hands since October 2017 and has been dry-stored with very little use during that time. The vendor informs us it was built to a high standard, and the specification list certainly supports that claim. From race seats with full harnesses and a Terratrip onboard race computer, to dedicated driver and navigator switch control panels, a headset intercom, CB radio, and a full colour rear view camera. A rear-mounted radiator with twin fans fed via a roof duct helps keep the 3.9-litre EFI V8 running cool.
