The Appeal
For those seeking a tyre-smoking, tail-sliding alternative to more anaemic German load lugging rivals, Mercedes’ W210 E55 is the surprise choice. Despite the firm’s reputation for sober-suited solidity, this car is a proper old school bahnstormer.
It is extremely rare too, particularly in cavernous estate form as here. This low-keeper car remains factory standard, including that 355bhp AMG handbuilt V8 engine. It is in good order and comes with a healthy history file. In recent years, over £9,000 has been invested in maintenance covering brakes, electrics, air conditioning, servicing and a new crankshaft sensor. The last service was in February 2026 which, with other work, totalled £1,900. All work in recent years has been completed by Mercedes specialist IN Autos. The current MOT runs to February 2027.
This is the sort of grumbly V8 wagon that we’re unlikely to see built again. Grab this one while you can.
The vendor says:
“An excellent motorway cruiser and has been used for trips to the continent to which it excels at.”
