The Appeal
Named after the Latin word for wolf, the Lupo was Volkswagen’s compact city car, built on the well-established Volkswagen Golf Mk3 platform and dressed in friendlier styling with upgraded equipment. However, with the Volkswagen Golf and Volkswagen Polo already covering most buyers’ needs, the Lupo struggled to gain momentum. Limited production numbers when new mean it’s now an uncommon sight on the road.
This example, finished in ‘Solid Pastel’ yellow paintwork with contrasting two-tone yellow/black cloth upholstery, benefits from being an S variant. Luxuries include painted door handles, electric windows and mirrors, as well as air-conditioning.
Rare being an Automatic model, ideally suited to enthusiasts with an eye for colour, this could make a playful inner-city runabout or a vibrant, characterful addition to any VW collection.
