The Appeal
A sign of a good car is when people hang on to it for a long time. This Jaguar XKR has remained within the same family since it was purchased new in 2001. The seller's father was the original keeper for over two decades before passing the car on in August 2024, at the age of 91. Having covered 63,400 miles in that time, it has been maintained by Jaguar dealers throughout.
The vendor states the overall condition is excellent, and describes the interior as being as good as new with all features intact. Very minor rust bubbles are noted around the wheel arches, and there are a few other small cosmetic blemishes, but otherwise, this XKR convertible appears to be a well-preserved example that has been garaged with a cover over winter. The vendor reports it is smooth and relaxing to drive, with strong acceleration readily available when called upon.
The Jaguar XKR convertible paired the marque's supercharged 4.0-litre V8 with open-top grand touring: a combination that delivered effortless pace and considerable presence in equal measure. Among early-2000s GT cars, few offer such a high level of performance, refinement, and style.image.png1.21 MB

✓ We want a smooth transaction just as much as you do and as such we run all UK-registered cars and motorbikes for sale on Car & Classic through an online HPI check to verify that they show no insurance database markers for damage or theft, and have no finance owing, allowing you to bid with confidence.
✓ We also check whether vehicles are recorded as being written off as part of an insurance total loss claim at the time an advert is placed on Car & Classic and we helpfully provide write-off category labels (Cat C/D/S/N) for your assistance. However, the presence or absence of a label does not guarantee the vehicle’s status and it is always worthwhile carrying out your own full vehicle history check before making an offer on a vehicle.
