The Appeal

In 2002 Jaguar’s slinky X100 XK8 received a major overhaul. Because the aesthetics were so good, the changes were largely invisible, but no less important for it. Key improvements included the arrival of the more reliable 4.2L AJ34 V8 and stronger 6spd automatic gearbox.

First registered in September 2002, this smart dark blue metallic car is an early beneficiary of those changes. It has covered few miles since and remains in very good order, with the usual XK8 check areas such as arches and sills presenting well. The car carries Arden badges and appears to be fitted with the tuner’s front bumper treatment. Other improvements are not confirmed.

The current keeper acquired the car in 2018 from specialist Jaguar Technic and sent it to Jaguar Amersham for servicing. The large history file shows regular attention to servicing and
maintenance and the current MOT contains no advisories. A very tidy example of the improved XK8.
