The Appeal
Of the many engine variants available to Z3 enthusiasts, the 170bhp 2.2L M54 straight six is generally considered to be the sweet spot, offering decent urge, six-cylinder smoothness and contributing to good chassis balance.
The current keeper of this 2003 2.2L manual gearbox car tells us that he has been using it daily since acquiring it in 2023 and that, perhaps unsurprisingly for these cars, it has always been reliable. It is in good order, the Sterling grey metallic paintwork presenting well with only a few areas to note in photos. There is a matching hard top and a set of smart Style 78 cross-spoke alloys. We’re told that one alloy has recently been repaired and the car fitted with two new front tyres.
The vendor reports that the car has no mechanical issues and it comes with a usefully lengthy MOT to May 2027. A tidy and nicely specified example of these increasingly popular roadsters.
The vendor says:
“A truly lovely example, a real eye-catcher - appreciating classic with the best engine.”
