The Appeal
Jaguar’s second generation S-Type was retro-inspired, but the only rearward-looking aspect of the supercharged R model was the view of BMW’s M5 disappearing in the mirrors. This was a blisteringly quick super saloon fully befitting of the original’s high performance reputation.
Sales were surprisingly small, just 1,274 of the 33,300 UK S-Types being Rs. In Japan, where this car originates, only 4,150 S-Types found homes so this example is especially rare.
It is a very low mileage, one owner car smartly finished in well kept Zircon Blue metallic over a black leather interior. Inside and out the condition reflects the caring owner and sparing use. These cars combine scintillating performance with a very Jaguar-esque driving experience and this excellent example would be the perfect introduction.
History and Paperwork
