The Appeal
There’s a strong case to argue that a good X100 XKR is all the performance convertible you’ll ever need. Great style, supercharged go, and the wood-and-leather opulence only Jaguar can truly muster explain why these cars sold well when new and remain a doyen among classic enthusiasts.
Thanks to sparing use by its two keepers and an extensive preventative maintenance regime, this 2003 XKR is one of the best we’ve seen in a long while. The Quartz Grey metallic paintwork, Dove Grey leather and optional 20in BBS split rims are all very well kept and belie the car’s 23 years. The current keeper acquired the car in 2022 and commissioned an experienced ex-Mercedes engineer to undertake a conservation programme. This included inspecting, cleaning, rust-proofing, greasing and oiling components in accordance with official Jaguar service manual guidelines. The body was treated with Lanoguard and Jenolite rust prevention. We’re told that items prone to deterioration were proactively addressed. Both keepers have kept the car garage-kept and used only in fair weather.
Lancaster Jaguar, Tom Lenthall, and Collier Street Jaguar have all contributed to its upkeep over the years, and the car comes with a substantial history file. Added reassurance is provided by the long MOT, which contains no advisories.
