The Appeal

The 911 has long been Porsche's most recognised top dog, and the 4S variation of the line up is probably your best bang-for-buck choice, sharing many of its design features with the 911 Turbo including a wider body, front air inlets, brakes and suspension components. At launch, the 4S was a fair bit pricier than the standard 911, however it was a good middle point if you wanted the look of a 911 Turbo without paying the eye-watering price that the Turbo commanded.

This particular example has had a new revised engine fitted in 2006 by Porsche at 75,008 miles, which included the new uprated IMS bearings - this was confirmed by Cavendish Porsche in 2022 for the current owners peace of mind. As well as that, the current custodian also took it upon themselves to refurbish the interior leather with an extensive detail and colour match to renew any worn areas - and it still looks absolutely gorgeous.

Savannah interior upholstery which was refurbished during the current keepers ownership, remaining to be in fantastic condition throughout with no damage visible
Black leather dashboard with the stitching in excellent shape, no damage or tears present
Savannah upper centre console and glove compartment to match the leather upholstery
Phone holder fitted to the left side of the gear stick
Electronic front seats remain fully functional with no issues
Exterior colour-matched centre console surrounding the handbrake, gear stick and window controls
A small wrinkle and chip in the paint of the silver trim around the gear stick on the left side
Aftermarket Alpine double-din bluetooth head unit fitted in place of the old radio - a common and welcome upgrade for most
Carrera 4S designated kick plates which show light signs of age however are in overall good condition
Original floor carpets remain in good shape with no rips or tears
Door cards remain in lovely shape, the leather is free of any damage and the lower carpeted areas are also in lovely condition
Rear seats in excellent condition, showing almost no signs of use - however this is normally the case unless your rear passengers want their legs cut off to be taken to the shops
Ashtray spring no longer works

The Exterior

Lapis Blue paintwork in lovely condition featuring small signs of age in the form of stone chips
Small stone chip found in the front windscreen
Small blister of corrosion on the drivers door, next to the window rubber
Front headlamps in lovely shape with no only some minor grazing
Body gaps all appear to be of factory fitment
Original Porsche wheels in lovely condition, recently refurbished by the current owner in the original silver finish showing no signs of damage
All four wheels shod in new Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres, a fantastic choice for any car
Caliper paint shows signs of fading and could do with a little refresh
911 Turbo front air ducts which is a desirable feature of the 4S
Original rear lights in lovely condition with no damage present
Carrera 4S badge designation present on the rear hatch with lovely brightwork
Exhaust pipes with signs of age - would come up quite nicely with a bit of attention and a polish
Rear bumper in great shape with no apparent paint damage, featuring those famous rear vents on either edge behind the rear wheels
Overall an extremely well kept 911 with just some small signs of age as to be expected of a 20 year old car - in arguably one of the best colours you can get!

New engine fitted by Porsche Reading at 75,008 miles which included the new and uprated IMS bearings, this was verified by the current owner by taking it to Cavendish Porsche for a thorough looking over
Upon receipt of the vehicle in October 2022, the owner took it directly to Cavendish Porshe and said “Go right through it and give me a list” - thankfully the vehicle was rather well mechanically sorted.
£1,600 spent at the time of the inspection to rectify any remaining issues from the previous owner

The 911 Carrera 4S is one of Porsche's most sought-after performance coupe’s, giving the driver near supercar levels of performance with a price tag that more resembles that of a hot hatch. This particular example has been excellently well maintained, and thanks to the revised engine replacement carried out in 2006 you can rest assured that it will purr along happily for many, many more years to come. This would make a stunning and superbly capable daily driver, as well as a fine addition to any collection of modern classics.
