The Appeal
The arrival of the 517bhp SL55 AMG literally catapulted the versatile coupe/convertible R230 into the supercar league. Where a thoroughbred Lamborghini or Ferrari require some comfort compromises to enjoy their performance, the same is not true of the SL55, which is the perfect blend of luxury tourer and performance car.
This 2004 SL55 is a very low-mileage example whose three keepers have properly maintained it. All servicing work has been undertaken by Mercedes-Benz with the last service in May 2024 at 34,500 miles, less than 1,500 miles ago. The current MOT runs to April 2026 with no advisories. Other work includes attention to the ABC suspension in 2022. It is a well-specified car in Brilliant Silver with the desirable optional panoramic glass roof.
Finished in the classic Mercedes combination of Brilliant Silver with black leather, this is a really well specified and clearly properly maintained example.
The vendor says:
“This has been in my ownership since October 2016. It is in fantastic condition and is kept in a heated garage. It has full Mercedes History although I only have it serviced every 2 years because the car is hardly used. Everything works as it should, and it still has the original Nokia phone in the console. The 2 valve control units for the suspension were replaced 3 years ago.”
