The Appeal
The Defender is one of the most enduring off-roaders in history. Straight-sided, angular, and utilitarian in appearance, these 4x4s were very much the evolution of the original Land Rover, rather than being a revolution. That formula of rugged performance, sharp-featured looks and straightforward mechanics were all still very much alive and well in the Defender - after all, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
This 2005 left-hand drive example has been very well documented and comes to us from the sunny climes of Portugal, which has no doubt contributed to its fine, solid condition. The car has predominantly been used as a private vehicle, which definitely helps - and now culminates in a superb Land Rover that's ready and waiting to be driven away.
