The Appeal
When Cadillac decided to take on Mercedes’ excellent R230 coupe/convertible, it didn’t mess about. Taking the Corvette’s Y-body platform as its base, clothed in edgy Art & Science design language it was seriously specified with advanced technology like Magnetic Ride Control, adaptive cruise control, and a Head-Up Display. Then, of course, there’s GM’s highly regarded 4.6L Northstar V8, good for 320bhp and imbuing the XLR with an American character the German can’t match.
This example is finished in the optional Infrared premium paint with Dark Eucalyptus wood interior accents. It has been in the hands of a single keeper since new, spending its life in South Florida's favourable climate.
