The R171 took what was good about the innovative R170 coupe/convertible, added some purposeful style from the Mercedes SLR and made the whole package considerably better. With their clever folding hard tops, these versatile cars make great all-weather cars and are particularly suited to Britain’s ‘changeable’ summer climate. 

This Obsidian Black 2006 car is fitted with a 1.8L, 163 bhp supercharged engine and has low mileage for its age. The paintwork is matched to a contrasting red leather cabin, adding a touch of verve to an otherwise handsomely understated package. 

The car has had just three keepers since new been regularly serviced. The last service was in May 2024 at 62,000 miles. The current MOT runs to February 2027 with no advisories. This is a really tidy example of Mercedes’ ‘Super Light Compact’ roadster.
