The Appeal
For roadster enthusiasts, the R230 SL finally solved the problem of Britain’s weather. Its clever Vario folding hard top means it is equally convertible and coupe, providing weather-appropriate cover at the flick of a switch.
This very low mileage Brilliant Silver R230 is arguably the wise choice from the model’s wide range. The M112 3.7L V6 is tough and durable, as is the 5G-TRONIC gearbox, while the lack of the ABC suspension fitted to V8 models tends to make these cars more reliable and less expensive to own.
With just 21,000 miles from new, the paintwork, bodywork and interior of this Sl350 are in extremely good condition. The current keeper acquired it in 2016 and tells us that it has always been reliable and has never needed any extraneous maintenance beyond regular servicing. Recent work has been limited to a spring and a new battery just fitted.
The current MOT runs to April 2027 with a couple of minor advisories for buyers to note. One of the nicest examples of the V6 R230 that we’ve seen in a long while.
The vendor says:
“It handles well and is always reassuring. Performance is good, and the engine revs effortlessly.”
