The Appeal
Like a bespoke tailored suit, there are many flavours of high end grand tourer. Just like those suits, some are built for style, and others, like the handsome pillarless Mercedes C216, are built to last. These are immensely well-engineered, technologically innovative cars and if you had a spare €200,000 in 2008, you could have acquired this one, the 630bhp CL65 AMG with its 6L V12 engine.
Displaying an attractive dark grey metallic over charcoal leather specification, this is a low mileage, well kept example of these brutally capable cars. It has covered just 111,000 kms from new, previously in the hands of a collector keeper and, for the last five years, with the current one.
Since acquiring the car we’re told that the current keeper has spent €15,000 invested in maintenance, including a new steering pump, radiator and various other components. It has been garage stored throughout the time.

✓ We also check whether vehicles are recorded as being written off as part of an insurance total loss claim at the time an advert is placed on Car & Classic and we helpfully provide write-off category labels (Cat C/D/S/N) for your assistance. However, the presence or absence of a label does not guarantee the vehicle’s status and it is always worthwhile carrying out your own full vehicle history check before making an offer on a vehicle.
