The Appeal
With 525bhp on tap from its AMG 6.2L V8, it is perhaps not a surprise that the SL63 was chosen as a Safety Car for the 2008 and 2009 Formula One series. These are brutally quick yet surprisingly civilised supercars.
The SL63 arrived with the R230’s second facelift, which brought a much more modern nose treatment. This Iridium Silver car is an early car and was factory fitted with £5,400 of options including desirable panoramic roof, Harman Kardon surround sound and Keyless Go. It has covered just 45,000 miles in its 18 years and been very well maintained by main dealers and specialists.
The vendor acquired the car in 2024 and tells us that it was extensively serviced on purchase. This work included OEM front pads and front discs, engine oil, brake fluid, transmission oil and filter change, new air and fuel filters, spark plugs, rear axle oil, ABC oil, fresh coolant, a/c regassed and a new Mercedes-Benz-supplied battery. The car was also fitted with four new Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres. In October 2025 at 44,968 miles the car was serviced again by Stevensons, a Mercedes-Benz independent specialist. The current MOT runs to March 2027 with no advisories.
Few cars munch miles as quickly and as comfortably as a SL63. This low mileage example’s recent maintenance covering key R230 check areas adds reassurance for buyers.
The vendor says:
“Extremely low mileage for its age, which is reflected in the high general condition. With the factory-original first-aid kit, spare wheel, tyre inflation pump, tyre repair canister, and trickle charger. Drives very well, last of the outstanding 6.2 litre naturally aspirated V8 engine and 7-speed MCT transmission.”
