The Appeal

The 987 was intended as a more amiable, easy-to-handle Porsche for the uninitiated, and many ardent Stuttgart purists stuck their noses up upon release - how wrong they were. This mid-engined car was so perfectly balanced and charismatic that it became acclaimed as one of the best driver's cars on the market - and arguably one of the most important cars in the marque's long history.

This 2008 example has covered just 15,640 miles, backed by the car's MOT history. The current vendor purchased it from the original owner in 2021 and reports that it has always been kept indoors and dry. The vendor describes the bodywork as being in faultless condition and states that the car looks and smells like new.

The vendor adds:
"I'm the second owner, purchasing the car in the summer of 2021. It was first registered in Sept 08. I believe it has always been kept under cover and no major works or replacements have been carried out.
When I purchased the car, it had travelled 14544 miles and had undergone a minor maintenance survey by the dealer. In May of 2022, I had the vehicle inspected and MOT’d at Porsche Centre Bristol. It was given a clean bill of health, and I was advised that a service was unnecessary. They were impressed with the car. The mileage then was 15,155.
Since then, the car has travelled under 500 miles and has been SORNed for most of that time. It has been in a garage and has been started and moved at regular intervals. It has always had the use of top-quality petrol. Car includes personalised registration number."
