The Appeal
Don't be fooled by its diminutive size. The Harrington 356 Speedster is a beautifully engineered, 1/3 scale replica of the iconic Porsche 356, produced by the Anglo-Vietnamese Harrington Group, said by many to be the world's leading manufacturer of petrol and battery-powered junior cars. These are not mere toys; they are miniature automobiles with real petrol engines, gearboxes, and proper braking systems, capable of reaching 47 kph in standard tune.
Our example, manufactured circa 2009, has benefited from a restoration that includes a full repaint in Metallic Eisblau (Ice Blue), a process that alone cost over £1,000. The result, paired with red vinyl, is a handsome colour combination that can be studied in the accompanying photographs. Beneath the fibreglass bodywork sits a 110cc petrol engine mated to a three-speed semi-automatic gearbox with reverse, while Brembo disc brakes handle the stopping. The car is reported to be fully working, with lights, indicators, and horn all functioning. A speed restrictor can also be fitted for younger drivers.
Whether destined for a collector's display or for supervised driving enjoyment, this restored Harrington 356 Speedster presents a charming and uncommon opportunity.image.png2.11 MB
