That sums up the XKR pretty well. There's no denying it's a proper old-school Jag - by which we mean a car that wipes the floor with any would-be competitors at its price point. Two decades on from the launch of the X150 generation, it still looks fantastic thanks to Ian Callum's superb penmanship, combining the best of Jaguar's trademark styling old and new. The XKR still feels quick too, really quick. And it's all thanks to the 4.2-litre supercharged V8 that nestles under that seemingly endless louvred bonnet.
This 2009 XKR Convertible is one of the last of the 4.2-litre examples. It has just 71,067 miles on the clock and comes with a year's advisory-free MOT. As the photographs show, the Jaguar looks to be in very good condition for its age, with minimal perfections to report for a car in its fifteenth year.
