The Appeal
MINI planned to build just 250 WC50s, but looking at this example, you can see why they relented and instead made 500. Built to commemorate John Cooper’s 1960 Formula One World Championship win and appropriately finished in Connaught Green, the WC50 is widely regarded as the most attractive MINI ever built.
It is certainly one of the highest specified. Each WC50 was built at Oxford and based on the 208bhp JCW. The cars were then hand-finished off the line, receiving virtually every available extra available for the JCW, plus some bespoke fittings.
This two-keeper WC50 has covered less than 50,000 miles from new and is in really good condition. It retains its extensive list of WC50 features, all which present well in the photos. Recent maintenance has included replacing auxiliary belts and pulleys and recharging the air conditioning. The MOT supports the sense of a well kept car - it runs to May 2026 with no advisories.
Whether you buy this for its surefire future collector-status or because you value a blisteringly quick hot hatch, this WC50 looks very tempting.
