The Appeal
Few marques blend performance, luxury and elegance quite as successfully as Aston Martin. Founded in 1913, the company has spent more than a century producing some of Britain’s most desirable sporting grand tourers, combining distinctive styling with powerful engines and a uniquely refined character. Alongside its road-car success, Aston Martin has also enjoyed a rich motorsport heritage, highlighted by overall victory at the 1959 24 Hours of Le Mans and, more recently, extensive success in international endurance racing.
Introduced in 2010, the limited-edition V8 Vantage N420 was created to celebrate the marque’s achievements at the Nürburgring 24 Hours. Production was restricted to just 420 examples of each body style, but only 355 in total were produced of which 103 were roadsters. Both the Coupé and Roadster benefit from a host of performance and cosmetic enhancements. These included a power increase to 420bhp, Sports Pack suspension, a lighter sports exhaust, carbon-fibre bucket seats, diamond-turned 10-spoke alloy wheels, graphite tailpipe finishers, and a suite of carbon-fibre exterior components including the front splitter, rear diffuser and side strakes.
Finished in an elegant colour combination and discreetly upgraded with Apple CarPlay connectivity for improved day-to-day usability, this N420 combines rarity with genuine driver appeal. Whether enjoyed on a favourite B-road or used for longer touring adventures, it offers an engaging open-top driving experience accompanied by one of Aston Martin’s most charismatic modern V8 engines.
