The R230-generation Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG holds a special place in the hearts of AMG devotees, being one of the final models to feature the hand-built M156 6.3-litre naturally-aspirated V8; an engine oft-regarded as one of the finest ever to leave Affalterbach. With 518 HP channelled through a 7-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT transmission to the rear wheels, the SL63 combined strong performance with the refined grand touring character for which the SL lineage is celebrated.
This 2011 example is particularly noteworthy for its specification. Fitted from the factory with the desirable AMG Performance Package (P30), it benefits from a raised top speed of 186 mph, AMG compound braking system, Active Body Control sport suspension, a limited-slip differential, and forged aluminium wheels. The AMG Exterior Carbon Package, carbon fibre interior trim, and Designo Alcantara anthracite headliner elevate the cabin and exterior further still.
