The Appeal
In the late Noughties both Aston Martin and Porsche were rediscovering the four door grand tourer. The Rapide emerged a year after the Panamera and is considerably rarer and much more hand-built. It shared 60% of its lightweight aluminium componentry with the excellent DB9. The clever design features a discreet four-door layout, incorporating a versatile hatchback, and is virtually indistinguishable from the svelte two door coupe.
The Rapide S arrived in 2013 and hiked power from the hand-built 5.9L V12 from 470bhp to 555bhp. These are exceptionally rare cars and with their performance and handling improvements, the version you want.
This early ‘S’ has covered less than 47,000 miles from new in the hands of four keepers, two of them since 2023 being father and son. Classically finished in Obsidian Black metallic with a matching black leather cabin, it is a really well kept car that benefits from Aston Martin main dealer servicing to May 2025. Added reassurance is provided by the lengthy MOT, which runs to January 2027 with no advisories.
The vendor says:
“The vehicle drives fantastically well and is always a thrill. With power and quality, this vehicle is second to none in its field. Best feature? The ENGINE NOTE!”
