The Appeal

The collaboration of fire-breathing Abarth with the rather more serene Riva boat builder wasn’t an obvious one, but it was certainly inspired. The result was this car, the Rivale, which mixes the rip-snorting performance of the Scorpion with the luxury and style of those Lake Garda boats.

Sources indicate that just 318 Rivales were sold in the UK. Each one got two-tone Riva Blue and Grey Silver paintwork, plus a lovely blue leather interior. Other notable features included an Akrapovič exhaust with carbon-fibre tips, and carbon-fibre interior trim. This car was factory fitted with the desirable ‘Sky Dome’ glass roof and upgraded sound system.

This 2018 car remains factory standard and is pretty in Riva Blue over Silver Grey. Its pair of keepers have kept the mileage down to below 27,000 miles, and it has always been maintained by the same Abarth dealer to March 2025. Alongside regular servicing, the cambelt and water pump were replaced in 2023. We’re told the current keeper is a mature owner who has used it as a second car. He tells us that the car has never been used on a track.

The car benefits from recent Pirelli tyres and comes with MOT valid to July 2026.
