The Appeal
The Yamaha YZF-R6 is one of the most successful supersport racing platforms ever produced. First launched in 1999 as the first production 600cc four-stroke to exceed 100 horsepower, it went on to dominate middleweight competition for over two decades. This particular example carries even greater significance: it is presented as the actual machine on which Dominique Aegerter won the 2021 FIM World Supersport Championship for Ten Kate Racing.
Aegerter's 2021 campaign was remarkable. In his rookie WorldSSP season, he took 10 victories and 14 podiums from the championship's rounds, clinching the title with two races still remaining at San Juan in Argentina. The championship was Yamaha's ninth in WorldSSP and Ten Kate Racing's tenth.
The motorcycle could be prepared for further track use or preserved as a significant piece of motorcycle racing history. The vendor acquired the motorcycle from an individual who had purchased it directly from Ten Kate Racing for almost €40,000.
