The Appeal
In a world of grey automotive men in suits planning endless new SUVs, let's be glad that sometimes car companies surprise us. Here’s the proof: Honda’s incredible S660, the tiny super Kei-car built to celebrate Honda’s 50th anniversary and whose development was headed by 26-year-old Ryo Muroki.
The S660 was built to meet Japan’s Kei tax laws, which are driven by the island nation’s extreme lack of parking space. It was conceived to bring supercar aesthetics to this tiny 3.4m-long footprint and, looking at the photos of this Active Green Pearl 2021 car, you have to agree Muroki succeeded. It is a stand-out design, and the car was a huge success.
Honda built the final cars like this one to a particularly high standard because it knew they were destined for discerning collectors. Its Alcantara wheel and black exterior identify it as a post-2020 facelift car in elevated ‘Alpha’ specification. Since registration, it has covered less than 10,000 km, mostly in Japan before it arrived in the UK earlier this year. The single UK keeper is now selling it as he trims down his collection.
The car carries UK registration and a recent, now-expired MOT from August 2025. That test showed no advisories, so renewing it should be straightforward. These brilliant little cars now have a worldwide following - here’s a chance to discover why.
