Why we love it
The Sprinter is an ideal base for a proper overland expedition build, thanks to its generous usable volume, substantial carrying capability and the quality of Mercedes-Benz manufacture—known for its toughness and longevity. However, this example goes even further: it’s a 5-ton version fitted with engageable all-wheel drive with low-range, offering off-road abilities that few camper-style vehicles can honestly claim.
What really sets this 2021 Sprinter apart is the quality and completeness of its professional conversion. Completed over two years by Oley Workshop, with joinery by Yannick De Lauw, the transformation has resulted in a genuine self-contained home. The whole interior is finished with veneer and solid maple, paired with maple plywood furniture—creating a warm, durable environment, perfectly suited to long stays off-grid.
The living space includes, in particular, a king-size bed, a dual-zone fridge-freezer, an oven with grill, a three-burner hob, an indoor shower and dry toilets. Solar recharging, diesel heating, hot-water generation and the water filtration system ensure excellent self-sufficiency.
The base vehicle also benefits from a particularly impressive specification level, with nearly €30,000 in factory options. Showing just 9,700 km and serviced exclusively within the Mercedes-Benz network, it’s a rare opportunity to buy an almost-new vehicle paired with a conversion carried out to an exceptional standard.
The seller states that “the vehicle is fully equipped and ready to go… a real advantage just before the summer holidays… fully equipped 4x4… the interior has been designed and built by professionals, with superb solid maple finishes, carried out by a talented cabinet-maker.”
The seller also adds: “The twin sliding doors (very rare) provide an unobstructed view to the outside, ideal for cooking. Ready for long trips without worrying about weight: large water tanks, etc. Open interior space (no fixed shower cubicle). Indoor and outdoor retractable showers. Great interior lighting. Very little used (4 weeks), sold due to an immediate move to a location that’s difficult to access after the end of the build works. Optional: a wooden terrace on the roof, an indoor wood stove (for fun, etc.)”
The seller describes the bodywork, paintwork, interior and mechanical components as being in near-new condition.
