The Appeal

Top Gear calls this 400d ‘the best version of the best offroader’, and who are we to disagree? It’s easy to see why. The W463 is both a fashion statement and an utterly capable offroader and the quick and economical W463 is the wise choice for those who want to indulge both.

This tasteful 2022 example eschews the more common black or grey in favour of Emerald Green metallic, a beguiling shade that changes colour in the light. It is paired with an attractive tan leather interior trimmed in optional open pore natural walnut. Inside and out it is in very good condition, helped by the low mileage.

The two keepers have clearly looked after it and also maintained it properly. It has only ever been worked on by Mercedes-Benz main dealers. The last service was in May 2025. The current MOT runs to May 2026 with no advisories.

Beyond the cleverly evolved classic aesthetics, which stick closely to the original G-Wagon, the key to this G-Class’ appeal is its very tasteful specification. It leans into the country set theme with its Emerald Green metallic paintwork, a colour that waxes between black and green depending on the light. Black factory alloys and privacy glass detail the exterior. Inside there is a very attractive tan leather cabin trimmed in optional natural walnut veneers.

It looks barely used, just a few light marks to the paintwork and interior to note in the photos.
