Description

1934 Morris Eight Four Seat Tourer

When the Morris Eight was introduced in September 1934, as the replacement for the original Minor, it was an instant success, going on to become one of Britain’s most loved small cars. With an up to date specification, which included hydraulic brakes, the Eight cost £120 in Tourer form, representing exceptional value for money in the highly competitive small car sector of the market.

So durable was the Morris Eight to prove that many examples were still in daily use right through to the 1960’s.

This 1934 example was in the hands of the previous owner for over 40 years. Restored both bodily and mechanically, it is a very good example and has benefited from considerable expenditure and time to bring it to the condition it is in today. There is a comprehensive list of the work carried out which is available to inspect. Also supplied are the original handbook and a copy of The Morris Register Information Manual on the Morris Eight.

Driving faultlessly, this Morris should prove a joy to own and is an ideal car from someone who is venturing into pre-war car ownership for the first time. Economical and reliable, with good brakes, these cars are surprisingly practical and have the benefit of particularly good Club support.
