Description
1961 Jaguar E-Type Series 1 3. 8 litre 'Flat Floor' Roadster, Registration UXG 135, Chassis 876224, Engine No. R 2851-9
Introduced in 1961, the E-Type Jaguar rightly caused a sensation with its stunningly attractive lines and 150 mph top speed, giving it instant iconic status and the accolade of being one of the most beautiful cars ever built. This desirable early car was supplied new to Canada and was imported to the UK by the late owner in 2004. At which point we believe it was converted to right-hand drive and was subject to a full nut and bolt restoration to a high standard which has stood the test of time well. We understand that it had several upgrades done at this time, including possibly extended floor wells (for taller drivers and passengers) and an uprated gearbox for smoother changes. It is finished in its original Jaguar Racing Green with tan hide upholstery and black hood.
We are selling this beautiful car for the executors of a deceased estate. Sadly, the history file is missing, and the knowledge of who restored this fine example for the late fastidious owner has been lost, but could be researched by the lucky new owner. It has been recently re-commissioned by a local classic car specialist who has reported that it is in fine fettle and drives very well. A list of the work carried out is available for inspection. It is supplied with a V5 document, a Jaguar Heritage certificate and a handbook.
A rare opportunity to purchase a beautifully restored and highly desirable early Roadster in a lovely colour scheme at a very attractive price. (Subject to 12% buyers' premium inclusive of VAT).
