The Appeal

Heralded by many as the last old-school Jaguar, the X308-generation XJ kept the model's beloved silhouette, quad-headlight setup, and wood-clad interior, while introducing the all-aluminum AJV8 engine.

This example is finished in metallic Zircon Blue over a black leather interior, an uncommon specification that sets it apart from the more frequently seen beige-trimmed cars. It has been in regular daily use since January 2024, covering trips in all seasons, and the seller describes it as quiet, refined, reliable, and responsive. Maintenance during the current ownership has been attentive: the transmission fluid, filter, and spark plugs were renewed in 2024 at 76,000 miles, and new front brake discs and pads were installed earlier this year. The car has been serviced with each MOT renewal, and all invoices from the current ownership accompany the sale.
A partial service history with stamps in the original logbook covers the first 60,000 miles, and the original owner's manual is included. With an MOT valid until March 2027, this XJ presents a fine opportunity to acquire a usable, well-maintained example of one of Jaguar's most elegant sedans.

  • Age-related wear to paintwork including small scuffs, chips, and cracking on the top of the front and rear bumpers
  • Small chip in the windshield, repaired prior to current ownership
  • Alloy wheels in good condition; front passenger-side wheel is missing a lug nut
  • Age-related wear to the driver's seat with no rips or tears; passenger seat shows less wear; rear seats rarely used
  • Small rip in the driver's side door panel; wooden trim on that door has popped slightly towards the rear
  • Third brake light is sagging
  • The seller states the headliner is like new; remaining wooden trim in very good condition
  • New front brake discs and pads installed in February 2026
  • Transmission fluid, filter, and spark plugs renewed in 2024 at 76,000 miles
  • Serviced with each MOT renewal during current ownership; all receipts retained
  • Small weep from the power steering reservoir; fluid level reportedly remains fine and has not required topping up
  • Brake pedal feels hard when the car has been standing but operates normally once started
  • Coolant float occasionally sticks, giving a false low-coolant reading; actual coolant level is reported as correct
  • Based on the engine number recorded on the owner's manual, this car should have been installed with metal timing chain tensioners from the factory

This sale is subject to the Car & Classic Terms and Conditions. By bidding and/or making an offer, you also agree to the following:
✓ The seller is registered as a private seller, which means consumer rights stemming from EU consumer protection law do not come into effect. However, you are still covered by Car & Classic's own Terms and Conditions..
✓ We request that a nonrefundable fee  be paid if you are the lucky winning bidder at auction or if your offer is accepted. Please refer to our helpful FAQs and T&Cs for specific rates.
✓ This vehicle is "Sold As Seen", on an "As Is Where Is" basis and without warranty. Photos and descriptions are solely for guidance purposes, and it's customary to carry out a full inspection of the vehicle prior to purchase for your own peace of mind.
✓ VAT is included in the buyer's fee. VAT may or may not be included in the final bid or offer price, as specified in the listing.
✓ We want a smooth transaction just as much as you do, and as such we run all UK-registered cars and motorcycles for sale on Car & Classic through an online HPI check to verify that they show no insurance database markers for damage or theft, and have no financing owing, allowing you to bid with confidence.
✓ We also check whether vehicles are recorded as being written off as part of an insurance total loss claim at the time an advert is placed on Car & Classic, and we helpfully provide write-off category labels (Cat C/D/S/N) for your assistance. However, the presence or absence of a label does not guarantee the vehicle's status, and it is always worthwhile carrying out your own  full vehicle history check before making an offer on a vehicle.
