By the mid-1950s, driven by the ideas and requests of overseas dealers, Porsche designed the Speedster version of the 356, an entry‑level model aimed at young enthusiasts eager to compete on racing circuits: it was characterised by two dry seats, a sleeker silhouette paired with a lowered windscreen, and only three colour options: red, blue or white; this particular example features one of the most distinctive and fascinating combinations, with red for the exterior and beige faux leather for the interior.
The car is presented in excellent condition, completely restored in every minute detail by Porsche Classic, a process documented through a beautiful restoration book produced specifically for it and bound.
It is subsequently subjected to appraisal and accompanied by the Reutter certification, the historic official Porsche bodywork company, which confirms the originality and correctness of the configuration; there is also an original Porsche toolkit bag and a spare tyre.
But the real peculiarity is the production year of this specific specimen, namely 1954, the very first year of production of this iconic Porsche series, a detail that makes it one of the rarest cars produced by the Stuttgart house.
A piece for true collectors, capable of thrilling on the road but also if parked in the living room at home.
